10/27 (33 degrees this morning!)
Shooting for my traveling filmmaking feature has all but dried up.
All the regular reasons for delays, postponements and cancellations so no surprise there. A very promising scene went poof when my main talent and his girlfriend (who live just down the street) no longer returned my texts. But I'm not deterred. I'll go to their compound and see if I can't talk to them in person. This Plan B has worked before!
Shooting a scene at my brother's place, which once seemed damned doable, has ƒ also evaporated. A friend of Robert and Stephen's and an acquaintance of mine expressed enthusiasm up until the time she went out of town. It's a scene with a musician (she plays the cello) and has but a single line from here and from another actor. It's minimally challenging in the acting department but that hasn't helped any when it comes to securing talent. If I stay here long enough, she may return!
I spend most days shopping for food and ordering trinkets from Amazon. The rest of the time I spend at a local mall leaching wifi from Starbucks. It's the same Starbucks my brother Robert spends most of his off days working so I see Bobby there all the time. He surfs inside. I surf inside my RV. Bobby and I dine about 3-4 days a week together. And it goes like this: Bobby has a nice meal, and I drink a glass of water. Because of my restrictive diet, I eat when I get back to the RV. I almost always have a small glass of Red, too :)
When I told Robert today that I may leave for Tucson the first week of November he said, "So soon?" He suggested I make SF my home base which sounded good. We shall see. I really like SF, and throughly enjoy the company of Bobby.
Will try to redouble my talent search here in SF. and get some scenes shot Got off to a good start with "Piles" and ground to a halt. MAY go back to ABQ for a week or so. Since I'm totally electrical independent now (Solar Panels!) I don't have to depend on anyone for electrical extension cord power.
RV Upgrades just keep on keeping on. I pulled/ripped the horrible original 1989 carpet off (very difficult in places as it was industrial stapled on) and painted the bare wood with an "oops" can of paint that I bought at the Home Depot. Perfect color. I bought an $11 rug that, when cut in half, fit perfectly covering the length from cab to bathroom.
Stay tuned!
